Name: Keely Hammond
How long have you taught at the school? Actually I've never taught. I arrived in February 2009 as a LSA and progressed to cover manager. I'm really looking forward to supporting the boys now as Student Welfare Officer.
What do you most enjoy about your job? Hmmmmm ... bandaging gory wounds, watching D of E participants put up tents in the wind or being part of a team on an overseas expedition? I have a fantastic job.
What do you enjoy least about your job? Sick buckets
What would you do if you weren’t a teacher? No idea. My suggested career as a youngster was to become an animal trainer!
What do you do when you're not at school? Baking chocolate muffins to take on bike rides, walks, climbs: anything to get me away from the ironing.
What's your favourite country? Australia - any idea why?
What’s your favourite book? I’m a lazy reader of late, but always fall back on travel books. I enjoyed 'Trail of Feathers: In Search of the Birdmen of Peru' by Tahir Shah whilst researching for the Peru expedition I went on this summer with JHGS.
What’s your favourite album? Dire Straits; Brothers in Arms - my first CD purchase
What's your favourite food? Greek - olives, feta, dolmades, taramasalata followed by copious amounts of chocolate and ice cream.
