JHGS at the Olympics
So far the following people associated with JHGS have been selected for Team GB. We wish them good luck and hope that pupils and parents will give them a bit of extra support as they go for gold.

Simon Burnett (JHGS 1999-2001) will be swimming in the mens 4x100m freestyle relay. Simon, who already has 2 gold and one silver Commonwealth Games medals, will be representing Team GB on July 29th. Further information about Simon can be found at
http://www.teamgb.com/athletes/simon-burnett
Nick Catlin (JHGS 2000-2007) will be part of the GB hockey team. Nick has already represented GB and England at numerous tournaments and his commonwealth games shirt is on the wall outside the Student Welfare Office at school. On the GB hockey website he lists his motto as 'quit ye like men' - I wonder where he got that from!
Further informaiton about Nick can be found at

Kenton Cool (JHGS 1985-91) has already fulfilled the Olympic pledge for Great Britain by taking a 1924 Olympic golf medal to the top of Everest. Click

We know that numerous parents are involved in the tournament, either as part of sporting organisations or as members of LOCOG and we wish them luck.
There are also parents and staff volunteering as Games Makers so if you are visiting a event keep an eye out for someone familar in a purple uniform!
There will be lots of events taking place at school to tie in with London 2012 more to follow.
