In Remembrance
"They counted not their lives dear unto themselves."

In 1966 when the school moved from Easton Street most of the archives were destroyed. The school does still have the Roll of Honour from 1939-45 but any details of ex-students who died during the First World War were lost.

In October 2011 students from JHGS using the resources available at Wycombe Library were able to recover the names and details of some of these men. The school at that point was named the Science and Art Schools and was based in Frogmoor. The men listed below had been awarded prizes for their studies at the school and were later on killed during the Great War. Click on their names to find out more information about them.

Since the school had over 800 pupils at the outbreak of the war there would have been other former students killed who are not listed here and we hope one day to recover their names. During the school's battlefields trip in October 2011 students from JHGS were able to visit the graves of some of these men and pay their respects.

If anyone has further information about any of these men and their families we would be interested to hear from them.
